A re-typed script, circa 1960s, of the English translation of Ferenc Molinar’s 1928 play.
Translator Sidney Howard was a client of Paul Kohner’s agency and it is believed this script was prepared in hopes of making it into a film after Kohner opened his agency in 1938. It was later adapted into two films, 1929’s “His Glorious Night” and 1960s “A Breath of Scandal.”
Yellow titled wrappers. Title page present, dated October 16, 1928, with credits for translator Sidney Howard and producer Gilbert Miller. 96 leaves, with last page of text numbered 95. Ribbon copy typescript. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Near Fine bound internally with three gold brads.
